Michael I. Meghoo, B.ARCH

Michael’s professional career commenced as a Graduate Architect for the Cayman Islands Government, Public Works Department in May 1994 after receiving a Bachelor of Architecture professional degree from the University of Miami. As a civil servant, architectural design services were provided for capital project including the Truman Bodden Sport complex, sport facilities master plans for the eastern districts and the design for the Department of Agriculture offices in Lower Valley. Following employment with PWD, Michael was employed with The Burns Conolly Group Ltd and OBM International, each for two years before entering into private practice.

Michael is currently the Principal of MJM Design Studio, an architecture firm which was formed in 2001. Areas of practice include residential and commercial new construction architectural and interior design.

Notable commercial clients include The Watercolours Limited, Intertrust Cayman Limited, Burger Holdings Limited (Burger King), Azzip Ltd (Pizza Hut), Bayou Holding Ltd (Popeyes), The Black Trumpet Gourmet Delicatessen and Cotton Tree Cottages. Michael’s practice also provides professional services to individuals providing architectural, interior design and contract management services of private residences and planned area development design.

Michael has served as a member of the Development Plan Appeals Tribunal as well as a member of the National Trust Historic Advisory Committee and National Roads Authority. Michael’s interests include urban design with concentration in New Urbanism.
